As a nature photographer, I was tired of juggling multiple apps just to check conditions before heading out. I wanted one simple tool that shows weather, nearby bird sightings, and what's blooming, without clutter or interpretation. FocusedZen is that tool: fast, clean, and built for people who just want to know what's out there.
Nature sighting data is sourced from iNaturalist, a joint initiative of the California Academy of Sciences and the National Geographic Society. iNaturalist is a community-driven platform where people around the world share observations of plants, animals, fungi, and more. All sighting data shown in FocusedZen comes from the iNaturalist API.
Weather data is provided by Open-Meteo, a free and open-source weather API. No API key required, no tracking, just reliable forecast data.
Location names are resolved using Nominatim, a geocoding service built on OpenStreetMap data. © OpenStreetMap contributors.
FocusedZen uses your device's location to show relevant weather and nearby sightings. Your location is sent directly to the APIs listed above to fetch data. It is never stored, logged, or transmitted to any other service. No cookies, no analytics, no tracking.
